Fay Gale, Professor of Geography, University of Adelaide. Professor Gale wrote the text on Aboriginal topics (Aboriginal Occupation, Aborigines and Europeans, Aboriginal Lands, Aboriginal Population, and prepared material for or advised on the maps on those pages. She was assisted by Irene Watson, Janine Peacock, Ann Riddle, Joy Wundersitz and Jane Jacobs at the University of Adelaide.
Trevor Griffin, Senior Lecturer in Geography, University of Adelaide. As co-editor Mr. Griffin shared general oversight of the project as a whole, selected the satellite imagery and prepared the detailed design, layout and drafting specifications for all the maps.
Howard Groome, Aboriginal Resource Teacher at the Pennington Professional Centre of the South Australian Education Department. Mr. Groome prepared the text and advised on the Aboriginal names for the map of the Kaurna occupation of the Adelaide Plains.
Ron Hill, Tutor in Geography, University of Adelaide. Mr. Hill prepared material for the map of rural land values with the assistance of the staff of the Valuation Branch of the Australian Taxation Office.
Steve Jackson, Research Assistant to the atlas project. Mr. Jackson was based at Flinders University for three years and is now on the staff of the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Canberra. He undertook a wide range of statistical, literary and cartographic research and wrote the text on the Northern Territory, and the sections on the River Murray and vegetation clearance.
Dean Janensch, Reader in Politics, Flinders University of South Australia. Dr. Jaensch wrote the text on politics and advised on the maps.
Philip Jones, Curator, Aboriginal History, South Australian Museum, and Roger Luebbers, Consultant Archaeologist, Department of Environment and Planning, wrote the text and prepared material for the map of Aboriginal archaeology.
Peter Kloot, Principal Biologist, South Australian Department of Agriculture, Northfield. Dr Kloot wrote the text and prepared the material for weeds.
R. K. Lewis, Principal Research Officer, South Australian Department of Fisheries. Mr. Lewis prepared the text on fisheries.
Murray McCaskill, Professor of Geography and a Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Flinders University of South Australia. As co-editor Professor McCaskill shared general oversight of the project, selected the illustrations and wrote those sections of the text which are not attributed to other authors.
Keith Northcote, formerly Senior Principal Research Scientist in the Division of Soils, CSIRO, Adelaide. Dr. Northcote wrote the text on soils.
Lesley Potter, Senior Lecturer in Geography, University of Adelaide. Dr. Potter wrote the text on the bushfires of January 1939.
A.C. Robinson, Scientific Officer, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Department of Environment and Planning. Dr Robinson wrote the text and prepared the material for vegetation, and advised on material for Conservation and Recreation.
