Densely dissected uplands on siltstone. The cover is predominantly open parkland over sown pastures with some orchards and vegetable cultivation. Views are generally middleground panoramic, but in westerly direction they open to background panoramic, with the plains north of the metropolitan area in the distance. In valleys, especially in the south, views re restricted, often foreground enclosed.
