Coranda (Environmental Association 3.1.8)

location map showing Coranda (Environmental Association 3.1.8)

An undulating to hilly laterite surface with lakes and cliffs along the coast. There is an open parkland with an understory of sown pasture and cereal crops, and some remnants of open teatree scrub. Pastures and some cereals are used for livestock grazing.

Blocks of mallee vegetation and mallee remnants along field boundaries, creeks and on road verges dominate in the foreground panoramic views, which broaden in coastal areas where the Backstairs Passage forms the backdrop. The scenery of the coastline varies from rocky cliffs to the gentler slopes and sandy shores of Antechamber Bay.
