Cortina (Environmental Association 1.2.6)

location map showing Cortina (Environmental Association 1.2.6)

A prominent calcarenite dune ridge running parallel to the present coastline, overlain by densely spaced sand dunes with a similar predominantly north-westerly trend. The native vegetation is mostly or partly cleared to a parkland or open parkland and sown to pasture for grazing beef cattle and wool sheep. Several large remnants of low woodland and some heath are used for light grazing or conservation.

Panoramic views can be obtained from the dune crests, and perspective views are characteristic of the interdunal areas.
