A field of parallel dunes and an extensive system of interconnected claypans periodically flooded by Cooper Creek. There is a mixed cover of chenopod shrubland, tall shrubland with a grass and forb understory, hummock grassland, grassland, and fringing woodland. Most of this association is used for extensive livestock grazing.
