Claredon (Environmental Association 3.2.13)

location map showing Claredon (Environmental Association 3.2.13)

Hilly uplands with dissected lateritic tableland remnants. There is a cover of mixed open parkland, forest and woodland, with small areas of orchards. Most of the association is used for grazing but much grazing land, as well as forest and woodland areas, is part of a recreation resource for metropolitan Adelaide.

Views are generally middleground panoramic except in the northern part of the association and in some valleys, where they are foreground enclosed. The land use in these locations is usually intense; orchards and some vineyards are interspersed between paddocks, blocks of pine plantings and remnants of native forest. Remnants of forest and mallee are also local features in the parkland landscape of the rest of the association.
